Overview
Staff Engineer, Product Transfer role at Stryker in Limerick, Ireland. This position will work within the global product transfer team supporting transfers within our supply base to reduce cost and optimize our network. This aligns with our strategy to maximize our manufacturing footprint in optimal cost regions, while delivering high quality supply. This is a 23-month FTC.
What you will do
* Develop knowledge and competency in all finishing process steps from the operations team and support knowledge transfer to our Stryker sister site.
* Support process development at receiving site location.
* Provide engineering support for products and processes, ensuring that all activities are completed and documented in accordance with the Stryker product transfer/NPD procedures.
* Collaborate closely with partners in broader Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Supply Planning and Divisional Partners to drive successful project implementation.
* Define process flow and layouts for process integration, ensuring efficient supply chain, optimal process flow, employee safety and best utilization of floorspace where appropriate.
* Manage the definition and introduction of new or moved capital equipment within our supply base and support the associated URS/FS/RTM/EQ & Vendor communications.
* Participate in generation of PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP, etc., associated with product transfers to ensure quality of process and product.
* Provide training for manufacturing team members as needed.
* Apply project management best practices to reduce transfer time, while adhering to procedures, product costs and regulatory requirements.
* Contribute to a global, dynamic and results-oriented team environment where flexibility is essential.
* All other duties as assigned.
What you will need
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical with 4+ years of work experience (relevant internship experience will be considered).
* Deep knowledge in manufacturing processes, process development, process optimization and project management.
* Experience with Equipment validation - URS/FS/RTM/EQ and vendor management experience.
* Work experience in medical device and/or biotech field is preferred.
* Manufacturing machining and general process development experience; experience in furnace and coating processes desirable.
* Self-starter able to find knowledge and become an SME with minimal impact to day-to-day operations.
* Ability to analyse complex situations, distil issues, develop insights, challenge the status quo, and synthesize recommendations.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong technical ability to develop and optimize designs for mechanical assemblies incorporating DFM principles.
* Strong technical ability in creating engineering drawings, models, applying GD&T.
* Ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design and transfer.
* Ability to communicate moderately complex plans and technical information to team members.
