Principal Design Verification Engineer

The Sustainable Automation Business Unit (BU) seeks a motivated and creative Design Verification Engineer to join a dynamic team in Limerick, Ireland.
The role involves developing leading-edge silicon solutions that support Industry 4.0 products in harsh, high-voltage industrial environments, and offers opportunities to work on large silicon systems across multidisciplinary cross-functional teams including Analog and Digital Design, Test, Bench Evaluation, and Applications.
Responsibilities
Architect and implement UVM-based testbench environments for digital and mixed-signal designs.
Define verification strategy, methodology, and test plans for block, subsystem, and SoC-level verification based on product requirements.
Execute verification plans, ensuring code and functional coverage, and support post-silicon validation.
Perform functional and performance verification using simulation, formal methods, and hardware emulation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IC Design, Firmware) to resolve design and verification issues and achieve coverage closure.
Implement and deploy Metric-Driven Verification (MDV) approaches to collect and analyze verification metrics to drive verification completion and sign-off.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers.
Innovate and enhance verification processes, adopting latest technologies and best practices.
Lead verification efforts, project scheduling and tracking, task assignment and reporting to project management.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree + 10 years of IC design verification or related work experience.
Proven expertise in developing verification plans for complex digital blocks.
Proficiency in creating and debugging SystemVerilog-UVM testbench environments at IP and/or subsystem levels.
Experience in constrained random stimulus generation and coverage closure.
Competence in Gate-Level Simulation (GLS) setup and debugging.
Strong debugging skills and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
Strong communication skills required to work with local and wider global silicon development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in formal verification and SystemVerilog Assertions coding.
Exposure to mixed-signal verification or analog behavior modelling (ADC/DAC/PLL/Sensors) is an added advantage.
Exposure to Ethernet interface standards.
Export compliance: Positions requiring access to technical data may require export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce and/or the U.S. Department of State.
