Care Worker / Social Club Coordinator - Castlerea Day Centre, Roscommon
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia-specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. Our vision is an Ireland where no one goes through dementia alone and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their carers, at the times they need support. The ASI is a national non-profit organisation that is person-centred, rights-based and grassroots-led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core.
This is a permanent contract of employment, part-time roles totaling 23 hours per week: 21 hours per week as a Care Worker and 2 hours per week as a Social Club Coordinator.

* Roscommon Social Club, The Cube, Lanesboro Road, Roscommon town F42 DX61
Responsibilities:
* Care Worker: Provide person-centred care to people with dementia, address their needs and enhance their quality of life. Report to the Day Centre Manager.
* Social Club Coordinator: Coordinate and facilitate the Alzheimer Social Club. The Social Club will provide activity sessions, music, information, support, and signposting for people living with dementia. Report to the Operations Manager.
Qualifications and skills:
* Experience of working with people with dementia, older people, or people with intellectual disabilities.
* FETAC Level 5 qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Good communication and organisational skills; able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
