Role Overview
The Senior Accountant - General Ledger will support the Senior Finance Manager in all Financial Accounting aspects of the Planet Payment Group, carrying out the daily and monthly responsibilities of the Accounting Department.
It is essential that the individual provides a consistent high-level of service in line with our company policies and procedures reflecting our corporate values and behaviors, as also being able to demonstrate drive, curiosity, an ability to work from his or her own initiative and an attention to detail.
What You Will Do
* Responsible for the accuracy of financial transactions and ensuring the smooth execution of month end close.
* Performing a thorough review of the operating expenses of multiple entities across various ledger accounts and cost centers.
* Identifying mispostings and incorrect classification of expenses and ensuring corrective action is taken.
* Driving process improvements around month end close ensuring its accuracy, efficiency & timeliness.
* Standardizing processes across the business to facilitate consolidation and comparison.
* Preparing journal entries, in an accurate and timely manner.
* Responsible for preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including bank accounts, intercompany balances and accruals.
* Engagement with auditors to support on-going audit requirements.
* Preparing foreign currency entries.
* Assists with ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Who You Are
* Qualified Accountant.
* Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
* Ability to resolve issues and propose solutions to issues that arise on a day-to-day basis.
* Proficient computer skills and experience with Workday Finance ERP systems is a plus.
* Able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Excellent IT skills including Windows, PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills, which are a key requirement.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to build positive working relationships at all levels within the organization.
* Proven team working skills.
