Overview
Our Dublin city-based customer provides risk management software products to support capital markets end-users.
They are seeking a Junior Risk Analyst to join their dynamic risk management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop expertise across multiple areas of risk management while contributing to both client success and system development.
As the successful candidate, you will work equally across three principal areas: building risk functionality utilising your Python expertise, customer support and query resolution. Role and Responsibilities
Risk Functionality Development
* Build and enhance risk management tools and systems using Python
* Develop automated risk calculation and reporting processes
* Create data validation and quality assurance scripts
* Support system testing and implementation of new features
* Maintain and improve the existing Python-based risk infrastructure
Customer Support
* Provide support to end clients on risk-related queries
* Assist clients with risk system navigation and functionality
* Run client onboarding and training sessions
* Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication
* Document client interactions and feedback for continuous improvement
Customer Query Resolution
* Investigate and resolve complex client queries related to risk calculations and reports
* Analyse data discrepancies and provide clear explanations to clients
* Collaborate with senior analysts to address escalated issues
* Create and maintain query resolution documentation and knowledge base
* Identify recurring problems and propose systematic solutions
Essential Skills and Experience
You must be able to demonstrate competency in at least 2 out of 3 core areas:
1. Client Support
2. Query Resolution
3. Python Development
Functional Skills Required:
* Naturally curious with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Accurate, with an eye for detail and the ability to spot anomalies in data and financial
* Proactive approach to learning and professional development
Technical Skills:
* Python programming
(preferred but not mandatory if strong in other areas)
* Basic understanding of capital markets and financial instruments
* Proficiency in Excel and data manipulation
* SQL knowledge (desirable)
* Experience with data analysis tools (pandas, NumPy) – advantageous, but not essential
Preferred Qualifications
Educational Background
* University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
* Professional certifications (FRM, CFA, etc.) - significant advantage
* Training courses in risk management or programming
Technical Experience
* Hands-on coding experience with Python
* Experience with risk management systems or financial software
* Background in quantitative analysis or modeling
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Basel, Solvency II, etc.)
