We are seeking a motivated and committed Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team at an acute service in Dundalk.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a busy acute hospital environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy services across a range of clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist: Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention to inpatients and/or outpatients in line with hospital pathways.
Support patients with functional assessment, rehabilitation, discharge planning, and safe transition from hospital to home or onward care.
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team including medical, nursing, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and social work colleagues.
Participate in discharge planning meetings and liaise with community and primary care services to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital, HSE, and CORU standards.
Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Requirements for the Occupational Therapist: Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
CORU registration (mandatory).
Ability to manage a clinical caseload effectively within an acute hospital setting.
Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Desirable Experience Previous experience in an acute hospital setting.
Experience in areas such as medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, geriatrics, or rehabilitation.
Experience with discharge planning and community liaison.
