Sr Manager, EU EXR Programs, EU EXR Risk, Project & Compliance
The Senior Employee Relations (ER) Manager ensures Amazon’s readiness for upcoming EU regulations and manages trade unions, employee engagement, and organizational transformation across the EU. This role is part of the Employee Experience and Relations (EXR) team, reporting directly to the EU EXR Risk, Project & Compliance leader. It involves close collaboration with stakeholders at the country, Business lines (BL), pan-EU, and global levels, notably with the Global Labor Relations Team. The role aims to enhance compliance, foster positive employee engagement, and improve Amazon’s agility in managing complex situations.
This position can be based in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, or the UK, with travel up to 30% within the EU.
Key Responsibilities
1. EU Regulatory Compliance and Coordination: Manage efforts related to EU regulations, including working with Public Policy to identify regulations, conducting impact and gap analyses, coordinating country-level preparations, and managing plans for directives such as CSRD and CSDDD.
2. Third-Party Strategy Management: Lead pan-EU strategies for third-party activities, maintain insights on trends, develop engagement strategies, and provide recommendations on third-party management, especially regarding significant developments like UK reforms.
3. Employee Engagement and Pride Campaigns: Design training to strengthen ER capacities, collaborate on campaigns to boost employee pride, and lead initiatives to improve employee sentiment.
4. Labor Relations Framework Development: Develop frameworks for major transformation cycles to standardize processes, reduce costs, and improve stakeholder and employee satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or related field
* Experience managing Employee and Labor Relations across the EU, with complex stakeholder engagement in a matrix environment
* Fluency in English (C2 level) and at least one other European language (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, German)
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in a related field
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills
* Ability to produce high-quality written communications and work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
