The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the expansion and coordination of the early intervention and prevention programme for Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). The post will provide specialist business support for the coordination and management of a Structured Education programme across NHSGG&C, including case finding and management, and delivering brief intervention calls with newly diagnosed patients, including those diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM). The post will contribute significantly to the development and success of the programme through effective administrative support, reporting and management of patient referrals. Occasional travel across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde may be required, along with some evening work.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

Duration: Permanent
Location: Gartnavel Royal Hospital
Hours: Full Time (36 Hours)
Working Pattern: (Mon to Thurs 08:00‑16:00 and Fri 09.00 to 15:30)

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for managing a training calendar, including coordinating dates, venues, both online and in‑person and clinician rotas.
Organise and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver the Control IT Plus structured education programme to newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes patients.
Support case finding and referral management processes to ensure appropriate patient access to the programme.
Deliver brief intervention calls to patients, including those newly diagnosed with T2D and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus.
Support patient engagement with digital platforms, including Near Me, and liaise with the national Near Me team regarding updates and reporting.
Undertake a range of administrative and reporting tasks to support programme delivery and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex schedules and priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Good IT proficiency, including the use of digital platforms and standard software packages.
Ability to manage data, reporting processes and administrative systems effectively.Experience of working within a healthcare or public health setting is desirable.
Understanding of patient pathways or long‑term condition management would be beneficial.
