The role involves regular collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and funding bodies, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial insight.You will play a central role in managing the financial health of the organisation and supporting both internal finance needs and external project reporting. Responsibilities include:Core Accounting Tasks:Manage invoicing, payments, and cashflow processesAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial projectionsTrack and maintain precise revenue amounts for each EU grant by reporting period, to support monthly and annual accounts and inform CFO decision-makingSupport year-end accounts and audit processEU & Grant-Funded Project Accounting:Handle all financial reporting, compliance documentation, and evidence gathering for EU reportingComplete staff cost calculations, invoice management, and procurement evidence gatheringAssist with financial projections for each funding streamBudgeting & Timesheet Management:Prepare and maintain project budgets and staff time allocationsPerform annual staff daily rate calculations (EU and SEAI projects)Manage timesheet collection, verification, and filing for all staffConvert new project budgets into annualized hour allocations per staff memberAudit & Compliance Oversight:Manage and prepare for second level/spot-check auditsMaintain well-organized financial documentation across all active and historical projectsAdditional Responsibilities:Support the new GEMINI Project Manager with:Oversight of 14 partner claims and alignment with project budgetsAdvising on financial compliance with programme rulesAssisting in procurement advice, reporting, and projectionsWork with CFO and PM Cell lead to:Prepare annual drawdown forecasts.Conduct revenue gap analyses and long-term financial forecastingCollaborate on actual vs. planned resource spend analysis using tools like RUNNWork with HR lead to:Process monthly staff expenses and payrollManage the administration of the company pension schemeMinimum Requirements:Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalentA minimum of 3 years' experience in an Accounts Manager role or similar financial positionProficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and strong excel skillsExperience in managing budgets, forecasts and financial planningSolid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulationsDemonstrated ability to produce accurate and timely financial reportsExperience liaising with auditors, banks and external stakeholdersDesirable Skills:Audit background or experience with audit processes.Knowledge of EU funding programmes (e.g. Interreg, Horizon, LIFE).Familiarity with project-based time/resource tracking systems.How To Apply:Please e-mail your CV and a cover letter to by 5pm on Wednesday, 1st October 2025.As we may be advertising several positions, please insert the title of the position you are applying for in the subject line of your email.This is a permanent contract.About Codema:Codema is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, dedicated to working on behalf of our local authority members to promote public good in the areas of energy and climate mitigation.
