Role Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the in-house team, providing commercial leadership and cost control expertise across a range of capital projects. The role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a client-side environment and is looking for flexible work arrangements combined with meaningful, long-term projects across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead cost management and commercial strategy on construction and development projects from inception to completion.
* Manage procurement processes including tendering, contract negotiation, and contractor appointments.
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, value engineering reports, and financial forecasting.
* Monitor project performance and ensure alignment with budget, programme, and quality expectations.
* Conduct contract administration including interim valuations, change control, and final accounts.
* Work closely with project managers, design consultants, legal teams, and senior stakeholders.
* Mentor junior quantity surveyors and contribute to best practice development.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
* Chartered status (MRICS/SCSI or equivalent) preferred.
* Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally in a client-side or consultancy environment.
* Strong understanding of Irish construction contracts (e.g., Public Works Contracts, FIDIC, etc.).
* Excellent commercial acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects across diverse sectors.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and regional offices.
