About the Role
EHS International is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support one of our key clients based in North Cork.
This is a 12 month contract role suited to a proactive professional who can lead day to day safety operations, uphold high compliance standards and drive continuous improvement across site activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with client site leadership, operational teams and external stakeholders to maintain a safe working environment and ensure full compliance with relevant Irish legislation and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership and Compliance
• Lead site safety activities and act as the main point of contact for all health and safety matters
• Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act and all relevant regulations and codes of practice
• Develop, maintain and review site specific safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and procedures
• Coordinate statutory inspections, audits and corrective actions
Site Support and Engagement
• Provide daily advice and guidance to supervisors, managers and contractors
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and site walkdowns
• Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, visible leadership and strong communication
Incident and Risk Management
• Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analyses
• Track corrective and preventative actions to closure
• Evaluate existing controls and recommend improvements to reduce risk
Training and Competence
• Identify training needs and support delivery of safety training where required
• Verify competency and compliance of contractors and staff working on site
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Advisor role
• Relevant health and safety qualification (NEBOSH, Diploma, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation
• Experience in manufacturing, pharma, industrial or similar high risk environments
• Proven ability to influence, engage and communicate effectively across all levels
• Strong reporting, documentation and organisational skills
• Incident investigation training and experience desirable
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
