Salary: Salary: €45,000 depending on experience Title: Schools Programme Manager for The Hope Foundation Reports to: Reporting to: CEO of Head Office Operations Overall Job Purpose: HOPE's Schools Programme is an education and awareness-raising programme for Irish schools that also raises funds for the charity's projects working with street and slum-connected children in Kolkata, India.

The Programme is comprised of multiple elements including: school talks on the work of HOPE as an overseas NGO; education and cultural immersion trips to India for second level students, and Global Citizenship Education (GCE).

The Schools Programme Manager provides strategic leadership and management of this Programme nationally, overseeing the HOPE Immersion and Global Citizenship Education (GCE) components as well as driving ongoing awareness-raising and fundraising activities with Irish schools on behalf of the charity.

The Manager provides leadership to the HOPE Schools Team consisting of 4 Programme Co-Ordinator's.

Location: Based in HOPE's Head Office, Ballinlough, Cork City.

Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9am – 5pm, office-based role (1-day WFH negotiable).

Frequent travel across Munster and some international travel to Kolkata, India (approx.

2 trips per year).

Responsibilities: HOPE Schools Programme Leadership & Strategy
• Strategic leadership of HOPE's engagement with Irish primary and secondary schools.
• Development and implementation of schools-related policies and procedures.
• Programme planning, target setting, and oversight of delivery.
• Oversight of programme budgets and financial projections in relation to the income-raising elements of HOPE's Schools Programme.

Staff Management & Training
• Direct line management of 4 Schools Programme Coordinators.
• Quarterly check-ins and ongoing performance management.
• Training, mentoring, and professional development of staff.

HOPE Schools Immersion Programme
• Direct management and strategic oversight of the Schools Immersion Programme which operates educational and cultural trips to Kolkata, India for second level schools.
• Safeguarding, recruitment oversight, and programme quality control.
• Coordinate programme timelines, documentation, and orientation processes.
• Coordination with colleagues on the ground in Kolkata regarding trip logistics.
• Delivery of school talks / information sessions, student and parent orientation meetings and trip chaperone training evenings.
• Act as a designated HOPE group leader accompanying groups of students and teachers visiting Kolkata India (average 2 trips per year).

Global Citizenship Education (GCE)
• Strategic oversight of the Global Citizenship Education programme.
• Content creation for and delivery of workshops to be carried out in Secondary Schools on topics for example gender inequality.
• Training of other staff facilitators in the above
• Quality assurance of GCE content and workshops.
• Liaising with GCE organisations such as World Wise Global Schools (WWGS) and the Irish Development Education Association (IDEA) including attendance at relevant events and conferences and responsibility for WWGS grants and compliance with the IDEA Code of Good Conduct.

Safeguarding & Child Protection
• Designated Child Protection Officer for HOPE Ireland.
• Implementation and monitoring of safeguarding policies.
• Safeguarding training and compliance.
• Garda Vetting Officer for HOPE in support of HOPE's Designated Garda Vetting Officer.

Programme Planning & Reporting
• Programme planning, forecasting, and reporting.
• Monitoring programme impact and risks.

Person Specification for this Role Essential:· Proven ability to coordinate programmes or projects with a high level of responsibility.· Ability to manage a closely-knit team, including remote workers.· Confidence and professionalism in public speaking and external representation.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Ability to create clear, effective and comprehensive written content for information, training, policy, procedural and presentation purposes.· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships.· Highly organised with strong attention to detail.· Strong IT skills, in particular MS Word and Excel.· Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently to schools throughout Munster.· Flexibility to carry out out-of-hours work as needed eg.

evening meetings to accommodate parents and teachers (Time in Lieu given).· Willingness and flexibility to travel to India (approx.

twice a year) as a group leader with school groups.· Own car and full, clean driving licence.

Desirable:· Experience working with schools, young people, or education programmes.· Experience delivering workshops or training sessions.· Experience in Global Citizenship Education, development education, or related fields.· Experience in fundraising, volunteer management, or NGO/charity sector work.· Strong interest in global justice, equality, and social change.· Familiarity with MS 365 Co-Pilot or other cloud-based systems.
