Job Summary: Manages the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities in operation. Liaises with external contractors for the maintenance and repair of same. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is also responsible for running and maintaining the preventative maintenance system to pre-determined guidelines. Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance of plant and equipment in the facilities department, compiling standard specifications/procedures for each item and monitoring all existing plant to standard specifications.
* Maintain equipment including AHUs, chillers, compressors, dryers and electrical systems.
* Specify and purchase suitable equipment spares and, in conjunction with the procurement department, negotiate the best deal.
* Establish relationships with customers and suppliers to pursue continuous improvement and ongoing business development.
* Attend internal meetings to help establish priorities and assign tasks.
* Collaborate with the Quality department to resolve customer-related problems/issues as needed.
* Ensure work orders are processed in full via SAP.
* Research and implement new maintenance processes and systems with approved vendors under the direction of the Operations Manager.
* Coordinate development of documentation in facilities areas in line with ISO9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and review conformance with the Quality department.
* Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training and regulations.
Qualifications
Education
* Time served Electrician - Advanced level 6 trade certificate qualification.
Work Experience
* A minimum of 3+ years post-experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Ability to read electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic schematic diagrams - Essential.
* Previous experience in CMMS with ability to navigate competently.
* Experience in technically challenging applications (e.g., medical, Pharma, tight tolerance work) would be an advantage.
* Experience working in a GMP environment—clean rooms, MALs, PALs, gown-ups, labs, plenums related to equipment servicing.
* Ability to interact with suppliers, customers and external contractors.
* Previous experience in facilities maintenance is advantageous.
Travel Requirements
* 5%: Up to 13 business days per year
Physical Requirements
* Medium-Exerting up to 50 lb/22 kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs/9 kg frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs/4 kg constantly to move objects.
