Offshore Finance Business Partner EirGrid Group is at the forefront of innovation in the energy industry, enabling the transition towards a low-carbon, technology-enabled smart future. The group plays a critical role through the development and safe operation of the electricity transmission grid in Ireland and in Northern Ireland (through its ownership of SONI i.e. the System Operator for Northern Ireland). The transmission grid brings power from where it is generated to where it is needed, supplying large industrial customers and the distribution networks, which in turn supply homes, farms and businesses across the island. The group also operates the wholesale Single Electricity Market (SEM) and the East West Interconnector, a high voltage link between Ireland and Great Britain.
The Opportunity The Offshore Finance Business Partner is responsible for in-depth financial analysis, business partnering and has a key role in delivering solutions for complex problems relating to the Offshore Project. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day support for the business, preparing monthly/quarterly/annual cost reporting, accruals preparation as well as the provision of valuable commentary and insights for the business. The successful candidate will be commercially minded while demonstrating high levels of attention to detail, problem solving and an ability to work independently. Strong communication skills will also be needed as there is regular collaboration with leaders from other departments and the candidate will need to be confident in dealing with those leaders and be seen as a trusted advisor to the business. The role holder will challenge and drive excellent business decisions, supported by accurate and timely information, providing insights from the data that is communicated in a relevant and credible way.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and maintain financial models that facilitate large volumes of data that can be manipulated to present information to different audiences;
* Support the Executive team in Quarterly Financial performance reviews with the Senior Leadership team;
* Managing day to day finance related queries from the Offshore team
* Monitoring spend against the various Regulatory allowances;
* Lead the annual Business Planning exercise and Reforecast exercise for the Offshore project;
* Participate in the internal and external audit process as required;
* Maintain good collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across the group, ensuring a flow of communication to drive excellent business decisions;
* Training and mentoring of junior members of the finance team;
* Work with other teams and directorates as directed to help achieve their goals;
* Other ad-hoc queries;
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and word is essential
* High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
* Extensive decision-making experience and an ability to prioritise conflicting deliverables
* Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive new solutions to problems with limited guidance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Energetic, passionate and willing to challenge the status quo in the interests of delivering change
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
* Previous Finance Business Partnering or Project Accounting experience
* Previous experience of the use of Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems would be advantageous.
* Experience in Data Visualisation Tools such as PowerBI.
