A leading Renewable Energy organisation is seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist to join its Planning team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of EIARs and Appropriate Assessments (AA/NIS) for major renewable infrastructure projects that support Ireland's clean energy future.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the EIA process for large-scale renewable energy developmentsDeliver high-quality Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact StatementsProvide environmental advice to support planning strategy and ensure legislative complianceMonitor changes in environmental and planning legislation, policies, and local authority plansSupport stakeholder engagement, including consultation with local communities and statutory bodiesManage procurement and coordination of external environmental consultantsEnsure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standardsMentor junior staff in EIA and AA processesContribute to team performance and continuous improvement effortsCandidate Profile:Honours Degree (Level 8 NFQ) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similarAt least 5 years of experience in leading the preparation of EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of Irish EIA legislation and planning processesProven leadership of multidisciplinary teams on EIA projectsExperience with renewable energy or SID projects (desirable)Postgraduate qualification and technical expertise in a relevant EIA discipline (e.g., ecology, air, noise) are advantageousBenefits:Salary: Competitive SalaryAnnual Leave: 24 days + 2 concessionary daysHealthcare Allowance: €1,500 annuallyPension: 6% employer matched contributionWorking Model: Hybrid (2 days in-office, 3 days from home)Apply today, by sending your CV and I will contact you for a discussion.Contact Aine ODwyer on 086 169 6824 or email aodwyer@frsrecruitment for a confidential chatPlease note: due to current time constraints and travel restrictions, only candidates located in Ireland with full rights to work will be considered for this position.
