Additional Needs Facilitator
The role of Additional Needs Facilitator is crucial in our Equestrian Training Programme, where we strive to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for young adult learners with complex needs.
As an experienced facilitator, you will work closely with our team to deliver tailored learning experiences that cater to the diverse requirements of our students. Your expertise in supporting individuals with additional and complex learning needs will enable us to ensure their participation and ultimate achievement of their QQI Level 4 Major Award in Horsemanship.
* Deliver individualized ETP modules on horse-based activities, QQI modules, and other related tasks, collaborating closely with the ETP Coordinator.
* Develop, implement, and review personalized therapeutic interventions for social communication, sensory integration, emotional regulation, anxiety management, and other areas relevant to student success.
* Contribute to annual programme evaluations focusing on tailoring the learning experience to meet the specific needs of students with additional and complex learning needs.
Student Engagement and Support
Ensure fair and consistent assessment opportunities for new students with additional and complex learning needs, promoting equal participation in achieving QQI awards.
Provide high-quality support through various means, including collaboration with external services and advocacy for students' interests.
* Mentor and empower students to develop positive engagement and person-centered decision-making.
* Support career development, facilitate work enrichment placements, and act as an advocate for students' needs.
Programme Administration
Record training and assessment information accurately and consistently, maintaining compliance with QQI accredited Quality Assurance Programmes and SOLAS Training Standards System.
Collaborate with the ETP Coordinator in ensuring quality assurance procedures are applied consistently throughout the programme.
Education and Professional Development
Engage in ongoing education and professional growth to enhance facilitation skills and knowledge, ensuring optimal support for students with additional and complex learning needs.
Participate in committees as directed by the ETP Coordinator.
Health and Safety
Ensure the health and safety of students, colleagues, and yourself by reporting any hazardous situations, incidents, or near-misses.
Complete risk assessments and maintain adherence to all internal policies and procedures, along with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
