We’re recruiting a Power Systems Engineer on behalf of a semi-state owned company. Our client offers a unique opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects. This role allows for hybrid working from the client’s office in Rosbrien, Limerick. Occasional travel may be required.
The power systems engineer will play a pivotal role in connecting a clean electric future through planning and development of the distribution network, meeting the changing needs of the clients' customers. Responsibilities:
1. Power System Evaluation: Perform comprehensive assessments of the electrical distribution network using industry-standard tools (e.g., Synergi, PSS Sincal) to evaluate renewable integration, flexible loads, customer demand connections, and reinforcement strategies.
2. Customer Connection Handling: Manage grid connection requests in accordance with CRU guidelines and internal procedures, providing clear responses to customer inquiries.
3. Project Leadership: Lead planning and infrastructure development projects from concept through to delivery.
4. Technical Documentation: Develop documentation for capital investment proposals, including studies, financial evaluations, and technical submissions.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including private customers, developers, government bodies, and local authorities.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. 2 to 5 years’ engineering experience.
3. Strong technical skills with a proven track record.
4. Excellent communication and report writing skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Full clean driving license.
7. Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., Synergi, PSS Sincal) is desirable.
8. Experience in areas such as system planning, grid connection studies, power quality, or policy development is advantageous but not essential.
