We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our team. As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Responsibilities:
* Income Audit
* Audit and verify all revenue transactions in the Property Management System (PMS)
* Reconcile daily and monthly sales, cash, and banking (including credit card receipts, vouchers, bank transfers)
* Manage cash floats, petty cash, and prepare monthly reports
* Maintain accurate records for audits, compliance and reporting.
* Balance all related nominal control accounts
* Monitor operations teams' compliance with financial controls and SOP's
* Collaborate with hotel team and management.
* Perform ad hoc accounting work as required
* Debtors
* Ensures transfers from guest ledger to city ledger are accurate and done in a timely fashion.
* Performs timely issue of invoices and statements, attaching pertinent back-up.
* Post payments received to aging and reconciles these payments to open invoices.
* Balances accounts receivable system to the general ledger routinely.
* Follow up on overdue accounts (over 30 days).
* Summit credit checks on all new customers seeking an account with the Hotel in line with company policy.
* Assists in the preparation of month end reconciliation and in the final monthly
* closing of the accounts receivable system.
* Qualifications:
* Accounting Technician qualification or Part qualified Accountant (ACCA,ACA,CPA, or CIMA).
* Previous experience in accounts or accounting roles, preferably in the hospitality industry.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, SageX3 and Hotsoft and advantage
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and vendors.
* High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
