Job Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to lead our global payroll function, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
About the Role:
* Assess and mitigate payroll risks by developing effective strategies and implementing controls to minimize risk exposure.
* Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance payroll processes and systems, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee payroll practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
2. Manage the overall SOC-1 business control framework and relevant aspects of the SOC-2 and ISO framework.
3. Review and continuously improve controls, implementing new ones that add value to processes and customers.
4. Drive automation of controls to ensure continuous improvement in compliance and reporting.
5. Manage internal and external audit process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
6. Coordinate with the CIO to manage dependencies between IT and Business Controls.
7. Coordinate with centralized Enterprise Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to manage dependencies and proactively mitigate risk.
8. Monitor changes in legislation affecting payroll and work with the business and legal teams to implement necessary adjustments.
9. Develop and oversee enhanced processes for receipting, reporting, and risk management related to client funds.
10. Identify and implement other compliance and control frameworks that drive value to customers and the organization.
11. Continuously assess, manage, and report on key risks on the OneView Operations Risk Register.
12. Develop and maintain payroll compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
13. Identify, analyze, and assess payroll risks, including fraud prevention.
14. Implement controls and processes to minimize payroll-related risks.
15. Conduct regular audits and assessments of payroll processes and systems.
16. Prepare and present payroll compliance reports to senior management.
17. Lead investigations into payroll discrepancies or compliance issues.
18. Analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
19. Foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness within the payroll department.
20. Facilitate training sessions on payroll compliance for internal stakeholders.
21. Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll risk and compliance for the organization.
22. Evaluate current payroll processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and compliance.
23. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technological advancements in payroll management.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in risk, compliance, and internal controls management in the payroll industry or similar.
* Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws is preferred.
* Experience in implementing payroll compliance programs and conducting audits is preferred.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
