Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Description:
The role of an Occupational Therapist involves providing high-quality, recovery-focused assessment and intervention to adults admitted to the in-patient mental health unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of occupational performance, function, and recovery needs.
* Develop and implement individualised treatment programmes using evidence-based, recovery-oriented approaches.
* Facilitate individual and group interventions, such as life skills, creative therapy, social skills, and sensory regulation.
* Support service users in developing skills for self-care, productivity, leisure, and community living.
* Contribute to discharge planning, including community liaison, home assessments, and activity-based recovery planning.
Requirements:
* Bachelor/Masters degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by CORU.
* CORU registration.
* Experience (clinical placement or post-qualification) in mental health or related area.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Post-qualification experience in adult mental health (acute in-patient or community).
* Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.
* Training in group facilitation, sensory approaches, or cognitive remediation.
* Experience in outcome measurement tools (e.g., MOHOST, COPM, OCAIRS).
