Kilkenny Contract Type: [Full-time / Permanent] About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Technician with proven experience using Sage accounting software to join our finance team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day finance operations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Process sales and purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are complete and correct.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash flow reporting.
Process supplier payments and employee expenses.
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors when required.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as needed.
Key Requirement Proven experience using Sage 50 / Sage 200 / Sage Online in a similar role.
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills Experience with payroll processing.
Knowledge of other accounting systems or ERP software.
Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting.
