Functional Safety Engineer - Energy Sector
This is a critical role for a skilled Functional Safety Engineer who will lead the definition of functional safety products and systems for the energy market. The successful candidate will bring expertise in functional safety at both the micro and macro levels, working closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architecture, and specifications related to product development within the Sustainable Energy product group.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Building and leading an Energy Functional Safety team that supports multiple end markets within the Sustainable Energy business unit.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architecture, and specifications related to product development within the Sustainable Energy product group.
* Direct support of ADI field team and customer's engineering teams (including their FuSa/FS engineers) in support of using ADI technology offerings for successful definition and deployment of their products.
* Interaction with third-party safety assessors and certification bodies as relevant to Sustainable Energy markets.
* Educating product development engineering teams regarding Functional Safety.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Systems engineering experience for complex automotive & industrial applications.
* Detailed knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 61508, FTA, FMEDA, etc.
* Experience with safety systems architecture.
* Domain knowledge in semiconductor space (testing, silicon failure modes, etc.) for automotive/industrial/energy electronics.
* Applications domain knowledge within EV Charging Infrastructure, Energy Storage, EV Powertrain spaces.
* Current on Safe Operating Area (SOA) operational limits for semiconductor transistors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Functional Safety related role.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and both independent and team-oriented work ethics.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective teamwork and leadership capabilities.
* Good verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
