Senior Speech & Language Therapist (Part‑Time)

Hours & Term
21 hours per week (0.6 WTE) – 12‑month fixed term
Reports To
Children’s Disability Network Manager (CDNM) & Speech and Language Therapy Manager (SLTM)
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical speech and language therapy services to children with complex needs as part of an interdisciplinary team
Conduct assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of intervention programmes in accordance with service standards
Maintain comprehensive documentation of assessments, intervention plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, clinics and review meetings, and collaborate with families, schools and other statutory or voluntary services
Develop and deliver individual, group and consultative interventions, including universal, targeted and intensive approaches
Actively engage in performance management, quality improvement and outcome measurement processes
Adhere to confidentiality, ethics, child protection and safeguarding legislation and local policies
Maintain professional standards within the scope of Speech and Language Therapy practice as defined by CORU and the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists
Plan and promote safe working practices in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and Foundation policies
Coordinate service delivery, allocate resources, develop service or business plans, and report on outcomes and statistics as requiredManage accurate records and support service audits
Lead training and supervision activities, including supporting student Speech and Language Therapists and providing oversight for other SLTs within the team
Foster a team culture that values diversity, good working practice and evidence‑based service deliveryEngage in research, presentation and ongoing professional development
Qualifications & Experience
Registered Speech and Language Therapist with CORU
Minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience
Experience with children with physical disability, intellectual disability and/or autism is desirable
Attainment of dysphagia competencies is essential
Full Irish/EU driving licence and indemnification of the Foundation on your car insurance policy
