Harrington Group are now recruiting for a General Operatives to join our teams in Sligo and Kilkelly. Principal Duties: A General Operative is responsible for ensuring that production is carried out efficiently in adherence to quality standards. Putting up safety signs, ladders and barriers as instructed. Laying pipes, covers etc. Marking out the area under where works are being carried out. Handling and transporting materials and equipment. Driving machinery if permitted, and on condition that you have obtained all the tickets and training and you are fully certified. Meet defined targets. Follow instruction from the Foreman, Quarry Manager and/or Senior Staff. To ensure the safety of yourself, the workforce, public and any other person affected by your duties and responsibilities. To follow task briefings and appropriate safe systems of work and ensure that Company policies and procedures are always adhered to. Complete all training as identified by the company. Ad hoc duties that may arise. Interface with various departments as required. Must be flexible regarding start and finish times. Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety, be fully compliant with Company Health & Safety: policies, procedures, systems, and rules, report all hazards and incidents and ensure that you always work safely. Knowledge / Skills/ Experience 1- 2 years of experience preferred Valid Safe Pass Valid Manual Handling. Have a good work ethic. Have good time keeping skills. Ability to work on own initiative or with a team and to strict deadlines. Flexible and adaptable. Driving License preferred Understand the importance of efficiency and productivity. Contract - Fixed Term/Perm Working Days - Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturday work - 8am to 1pm).
