Our client, a leading medical device company are seeking a Senior Chemist to join their team in Galway on a 12 month contract.ResponsibilitiesPerform analytical testing on drugs and drug combination products with Liquid/Gas Chromatography, Elution, Spectroscopic and Wet Chemistry techniques.Responsible for analytical test method development and validation activities.Responsible for laboratory investigations ensuring timely disposition/closure.Responsible for accurate reporting and interpretation of results, trending, leading to investigation and production of technical reports.Liaise with other departments on site (Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Engineering) to ensure efficient and robust processes are executed on site.Provide technical support for instrumentation and analytical methodology and execute troubleshooting.Drives continuous improvement projects to reduce testing lead‑times/cost savings.Works independently to plan and schedule activities to meet project timelines.Supports training of new colleagues, as well as internal and external audit programs and regulatory submissions.RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.5+ years of experience in analytical chemistry, including method development/validation, and hands‑on use of chromatography/spectroscopy techniques.Proven ability to independently manage workflow and deliver projects on time.Demonstrated experience in laboratory investigations, technical reporting, and data analysis.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally.Strong commitment to compliance, continuous improvement, and mentoring/training colleagues.
