Assistant Retail Manager
Location: Irish Cancer Society Shop, Phibsborough, Dublin 7. Department: Fundraising. Reports to: Shop Manager. Contract type: Permanent. Hours: Four days a week (28 hrs per week) 9.30am to 5.30pm. Set days: Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Salary: €27,856 per annum (Full time equivalent). Pro rata salary for 4-day week €22,284.80. Hourly rate €15.30. This is a permanent role and not suited for temporary work students.

We are looking for an experienced assistant shop manager to join our team. Our shops are open Monday to Saturdays with no late evenings and closed on public holidays and over the Christmas break. What You’ll Do
Assist the Manager in the operation of an Irish Cancer Society shop, in a manner that reflects high street retail standards and maintains the professionalism and profile of the Society in all areas of operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the shop manager in all areas of operation.
* Maintain operational standards that are consistent with or exceed industry norms.
* Ensure that any interaction with customers is carried out in a manner that is courteous and professional.
* Maintain accurate records of all sales and payments and observe banking and cash‑security procedures at all times.
* Proactively manage staff and volunteers, recruit and support a team.
* Maintain a safe environment for customers, volunteers and staff and report any hazard to the Shop Manager/Area Manager.
* Observe agreed stock management procedures and maximise merchandising and window display opportunities.
* Act as a contact point for existing and potential service users, promote Society services and support major Society fundraising initiatives.
* Provide cover for the Manager’s holidays and, where possible, cover absence due to illness.
