There is currently 1 permanent whole-time vacancy available in Older Person's Services, Community Health Care South East.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Director of Nursing 2, Older Persons Service from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Purpose of the post
The Director of Nursing – Band 2 will work in an integrated way across IHA areas working within the community and liaising closely with Community and Acute services.
The post holder will Provide professional governance, professional supervision, practice development and leadership to the Nursing Staff within Older Persons' Community services.
The Director of Nursing - Band 2, Older Persons Services will have both strategic and operational responsibility for the development and implementation of improvements in Nursing Practice in Community Services relating to Older Persons and service users experience and quality of care provision, while delivering on agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and establishing a performance culture and will ensure all functions are fulfilled in line with National Operational Guidance.
This post holder has a pivotal role in creating the vision and setting the culture of the Older Persons Services Nursing Team and therefore will have overarching responsibility for coordinating and managing activity and resources that will lead to the implementation, monitoring and sustainability of the nursing resource.
The post holder will ensure that effective communication and integrated structures are in place to support team members who may align to other service teams for the purpose of providing a unified response to residents and service users' needs as set out in National and local strategic and operational plans.
The post holder will support older person's services to deliver effective and efficient services in line with the Unscheduled Care Plans, this will include reviewing scope of service provision within Older Persons Services and identifying learning and improvement action plans.
The post holder will identify opportunities for service enhancement within Older Persons Services.
The post holder will oversee the development and expansion of nursing services in Older Persons Services across IHA Kilkenny Carlow South Tipperary and IHA Waterford Wexford.
This post holder is a member of Older Persons Services Management Team and will have a key role in creating an atmosphere and culture where excellence can flourish with strong multidisciplinary collaboration across IHA Kilkenny Carlow South Tipperary and IHA Waterford Wexford with integration with the acute hospital system.
The Director of Nursing will be an experienced nurse manager who wants to be part of a team with the common goal to deliver excellent services to our target population.
They will lead a motivated and committed nurse management team to provide high quality services to the older population of IHA Kilkenny Carlow South Tipperary and IHA Waterford Wexford, while also providing specialist advice and support in relation to Older Persons care to staff across both IHA areas.
S/he will contribute to the corporate management agenda of Older Persons Services by providing strong strategic, professional and clinical leadership for all aspects of nursing and support staff within IHA Kilkenny Carlow South Tipp and IHA Waterford Wexford.
The post holder will demonstrate care, compassion and respect for residents and service users receiving care and for staff delivering care across the organisation.
The focus of the role is on improving the residents and service users experience and quality of care provision, while delivering on agreed Key Performance Indicators and establishing a performance culture.
