Club Support Staff is a part-time position reporting to the Club Manager. They are responsible for providing the initial point of contact with members and visitors, as well as providing administrative and operational support to the club as required. You are expected to work in a collaborative manner in a team environment. Previous positive experience of working with children is highly desirable.
Directly Reports to: Support Team Lead
Primary Responsibilities:
* Providing administrative support to management
* Database management & maintenance
* Answering incoming calls and emails
* Occasionally working in our reception
* Taking an active role in planning, preparing for and running RGC events
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Operates RGC's software and provides customer support where required.
2. Operates RGC's lost and found facility and assists in merchandise order processing/sales.
3. Upholds and is knowledgeable about RGC's and our NGB's policies, procedures, standards and codes of conduct, as well as RGC's programmes, plans and strategy.
4. Develops and maintains positive relationships with all staff, members, external agents and visitors. Also maintains the highest level of public image of RGC.
5. Maintains work area, office, supplies and public areas in an orderly manner.
6. Complete all required compliance training/procedures as directed by the Club Manager. This is not limited to, but may include:
a. Garda Vetting.
b. Child Safeguarding Courses.
c. First Aid Training.
d. RGC HR Seminars.
1. Completes any task of greater or lesser responsibility as required by the Club Manager or the Board of Directors.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
1. 1+ year experience in a similar role.
2. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
3. Experience in payments/cash handling/following up with clients.
4. Previous positive experience in a child-based environment.
5. Have a demonstrable advanced understanding of computer-based programmes.
6. Proven ability to shift task priorities as required.
7. Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
8. Proven ability to work on their own initiative without direct supervision and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Proven resourcefulness and responsibility in an administrative role.
2. Proven desire to improve efficiency and performance.
3. Proven ability to respond positively toward feedback from superiors and ask questions in order to fully understand tasks.
4. Proven ability to exercise careful and good judgement, and sound decision making.
5. A willingness to learn additional skills and to undertake additional duties where required by RGC.
6. Have a knowledge of and interest in sports.
7. Proven ability to work within a growing organisation and participate in collaborative activities.
Terms and Conditions:
Salary starts from €13.50 per hour, based on age and experience.
We are seeking to hire one person to work Tue - Fri, afternoon & evening (2:30pm - 8:30pm approx). The days and hours may vary and are flexible to a point based on the needs of the club.
The appointment is a one year fixed term part-time position with a 6 month probation period.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain Garda / Access NI vetting clearance in advance of taking up the position.
RGC is offering an annual leave entitlement of 20 days per annum (this is accrued based on hours worked). RGC operates mandatory leave periods in line with RGC's annual operational plan which normally includes periods Christmas and during the Galway Races.
