The Infrastructure Engineer - Level 3 (VMware) will collaborate closely with internal architecture teams and customer stakeholders, taking ownership of complex infrastructure solutions from design through to delivery with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Provide senior-level technical support across multiple client environments within managed services and project engagements. Manage and resolve high-priority and escalated technical incidents, following established incident, problem, and change management processes. Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and ensure resolution within agreed SLAs. Escalate technical issues internally or to relevant vendors where appropriate. Proactively identify potential system issues and resolve them before they impact operations. Perform systems management design activities, including patching strategies and upgrade planning. Monitor and report on capacity management and performance metrics. Act as a key technical design resource for customer projects and new opportunities. Develop and review technical proposals, including high-level designs and solution estimates. Produce solution specifications and low-level design documentation. Implement and deliver infrastructure solutions within client environments. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation in line with organisational and client standards. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key qualifications: Overall strong experience in Infrastructure and data centre 4+ years' experience in data storage and management, including FC and iSCSI SAN implementations (design experience desirable). 3+ years' experience with Veeam or other backup solutions. Strong experience implementing and configuring virtual and physical infrastructure solutions. Experience with capacity planning and infrastructure sizing methodologies. Design and implementation of high availability solutions. Experience with cloud management tools is advantageous. ITIL Foundation certification is desirable. Security experience beneficial. Linux experience advantageous. Scripting skills for system administration and automation tasks. Full driving licence. Strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service. Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Act as a professional ambassador when engaging with clients and stakeholders.
