Job Title:
A successful Trading Desk Manager will be responsible for leading a team in delivering against business objectives and contributing to the development of an informed workforce.
* To optimize trading positions in prompt electricity markets through proactive engagement with power and gas markets.
* Maintain and develop trading systems and processes to ensure optimal trading positions are managed, and regulatory risk is mitigated effectively.
* To manage contracted trading services for offshore wind farms currently under construction, ensuring seamless integration and delivery.
* Manage regulatory compliance and incident reporting across the trading team, fostering a culture of accountability.
* Engage positively with counterparties to build collaborative relationships and drive business growth.
* To support and develop the capabilities of the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Collaborate with the wider Generation and Trading team to assess potential new investment opportunities from a Prompt perspective.
* Minimum 7 years relevant experience in trading or a related field.
* Extensive knowledge of Electricity and Gas markets and associated commodity markets.
* A good understanding of operational risk management in a Trading environment.
* Proven commercial acumen skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
* Strong stakeholder management skills at peer level and senior levels of the business, with the ability to deliver change initiatives.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of work projects and motivating team members to deliver team objectives.
* A strong numeric and analytical background, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships across different teams and business units.
