What We’re Looking For
Cloud Engineering – Services is dedicated to managing and supporting third‑party tools and platforms, both managed and unmanaged, such as our Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD infrastructure like Jenkins and GitHub Actions, and shared unmanaged infrastructure. The ideal candidate is fluent in modern cloud architectures, containers, CI/CD automation, observability practices, and infrastructure‑as‑code. You know how to diagnose complex production issues, optimize system performance, and design platforms that minimize operational burden. You’re comfortable working hands‑on within product engineering teams, pairing with developers, advising on architectural decisions, and leading initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, security and other “ilities”. You are an advocate for operational excellence and continuous improvement. You think in systems, measure what matters, and build guardrails rather than gates. You communicate clearly, influence without authority, and enjoy building tools, patterns, and shared services that raise the engineering bar across the organization. Most importantly, you bring a collaborative mindset and listen deeply to help teams adopt best practices that make the services more robust and developers more productive.
What You Will Do
Increase our cloud efficiency – seek out and eliminate cloud waste.
Ship – deliver on the Cloud Engineering – Service’s charter daily.
Lead – actively collaborate with your peers, keep your pod focused and engaged, contribute to engineering‑wide decisions on technical strategy, product strategy, and organizational strategy.
What You Need to Succeed
Platform Management: Expertise in managing Kubernetes (EKS), CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions), and observability platforms (Datadog).
Automation and IaC: Proficiency in automating platform deployment and maintenance tasks (cluster upgrades, CI/CD workflows).
Third‑Party Tools: Familiarity with integrating Terraform, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Cassandra, and Databricks into the broader platform.
Reliability Engineering: Knowledge of scaling, failover, and platform reliability best practices.
Cross‑Team Collaboration: Ability to work with Embedded Teams to meet workload‑specific needs.
Leadership: Ability to influence engineers, product, and other SREs.
