A Little More About Your Role… Do you have a passion for trees? WSP has a large, highly experienced and friendly Ecology and Arboriculture team who work on a diverse range of projects across sectors within the UK for both private and public sector clients. The team offers integrated support by working with in-house specialists to deliver commercially balanced, innovative and integrated solutions. You will be involved with several projects concurrently and be a proactive team member. GIS and CAD knowledge is not required but is an advantage. Experience with digital data capture devices in the field is preferred. The Arboriculture and Forestry team and its projects are spread across the UK, so location flexibility is available.
Your New Role, What’s Involved?
Provide support to the Principal and Senior Consultant
Site based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections and monitoring in relation to BS5837:2012 and tree hazard assessments
Collation and interpretation of arboricultural information from desk studies
Preparing technical reports and feasibility studies, inputting into arboricultural impact assessments and arboricultural method statements
Liaising with design team developing mitigation solutions
Data analysis and project management
Provide support to the senior and junior members of the team
Working on NSIP / DCO projects preparing technical reports and feasibility studies, inputting into arboricultural impact assessments and arboricultural method statements

Ability to manage tight deadlines, work to agreed standards and deliver high quality work
Project pricing for small sites
Actively participates in recruitment when asked
Desire to work with junior team members to encourage their career development
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
Enthusiasm for arboriculture and willingness to learn
Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in arboriculture or a related field
Professional Tree Inspectors (PTI certificate)
Experience as an arboriculture consultant and/or as a local authority tree officer or similar
Experience in undertaking arboriculture surveys using digital data capture
Experience in inputting to and producing high quality technical arboriculture reports in support of planning applications
The ability to work in a pragmatic team of arboricultural, landscape and environmental professionals
Knowledge of relevant legislation and arboricultural survey methodologies
The flexibility to travel and work away from home within the UK regularly
A desire to develop core arboriculture and consultancy skills
A positive health and safety approach to all aspects of work and an understanding of health and safety in the workplace
A responsibility to always act professionally
