Medical Secretary Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join our team in Galway. As a key member of our clinical administration team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to medical professionals and patients alike.
* Responsibilities:
* Accurately transcribe medical documents, correspondence, and reports with speed and precision.
* Provide an effective and efficient front-line reception service, managing telephone inquiries from the public, service users, and healthcare professionals in a professional and empathetic manner.
* Schedule appointments and manage clinic bookings.
* Process, correct, and validate data to maintain accuracy and completeness.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality standards while handling sensitive service user information.
* Maintain both manual and computerised filing systems, ensuring that records are securely and accurately stored and easily retrievable.
* Provide clear information, guidance, and administrative support to service users and the multi-disciplinary team as needed.
* Ensure all activities comply with GDPR and data privacy regulations to protect confidentiality.
Requirements:
* Fast and accurate typing skills, with experience in Dictaphone being highly beneficial.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong telephone and reception skills, with a polite, professional, and patient-focused approach.
* Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
* High attention to detail when handling records and documentation.
* Ability to work independently, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance department efficiency.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support clinical and administrative functions.
About this role:
This is a temporary position with an initial 3-month contract. Pay rates will range from €19.30/hour to €29.77/hour depending on relevant public sector experience. This role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and typing skills, along with the ability to manage data with accuracy, discretion, and adherence to GDPR guidelines.
