Purcelloleary recruitment has been assigned to recruit for the role of Design Engineer for a manufacturing company going through a period of significant growth and looking to expand their product innovation team.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, they are seeking an exceptional person for the position of
Design Engineer
located at our premises in Gorey.
You will be a genuine team player with the ability to focus on project delivery, while understanding the dynamics of a working factory and its stakeholders.
You'll be a member of our engineering team, contributing to the design of new innovative products.
To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using SolidWorks, with strong attention to detail and a creative flair.
This is a key role within the company and the successful candidate will have a track record of being solutions orientated.
You should be able to research new product ideas and methods and improve existing processes.
The role of the Design Engineer:
This is a varied role where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on the design and re-design of new and existing products.
Along with product design this role will include design of associated production tooling, Jigs & fixtures, material handling and storage solutions.
Responsibilities for the Design Engineer:
Design new engineering products and jigs for production.
Proficient is SolidWorks
Work with the production team to Improve existing products and processes
Ensure compliance with the industry's safety standards
Maintain accurate records
Ensure products are user- and environment-friendly
Present prototypes and designs to customers and project managers
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Design Engineer or a similar role
Proven experience using SolidWorks
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field is required.
Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design
Great computational and spatial ability
Excellent oral and written communication
Attention to detail
