Our client, a globally recognized financial institution, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with expertise in corporate and commercial law to join their European Legal team.
Key points:
This role requires candidate with at least 7 years pqe.
In-house experience in a financial services business is preferable (or a secondment in an FS business)
Significant commercial law experience
Reporting to the Head of Legal
The legal team is made up of 5 qualified lawyers and paralegals
This role involves providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice within a regulated financial services environment.
With a focus on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts, this role is ideal for someone with experience from the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts, including trading, data, and technology agreements.
Advise on corporate law and governance matters, including board governance, corporate structuring, and intra-group arrangements.
Support business and regulatory projects by drafting and implementing legal and regulatory policies and procedures.
Identify and evaluate legal risks associated with new businesses, transactions, and market initiatives.
Collaborate with the compliance function to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and support engagement with regulators.
