Physiotherapist
Medforce are delighted to be working with a 100 bed nursing home unit for the hiring of a Physiotherapist to join a multidisciplinary team in Loughrea. The role is based within the Nursing Home and Short Stay Unit, which provides focused rehabilitation—typically over a two-week period—to enable patients, predominantly older adults, to regain independence and return safely to their own homes.
The successful candidate will work closely with nursing staff, occupational therapy, medical staff, and families to optimise residents’ physical function, mobility, and quality of life. This role is open to staff or senior level Physiotherapists.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for residents and short-stay patients, with a focus on geriatric and neurological rehabilitation.
* Develop, implement, and review individualised treatment plans to support mobility, functional independence, and fall prevention.
* Provide evidence-based rehabilitation interventions including exercise programmes, gait training, balance work, and functional task practice.
* Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and discharge planning.
* Educate patients, families, and carers on home exercise programmes and safe mobility strategies.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards and HIQA requirements.
* Contribute to service development initiatives, including group therapy programmes and falls prevention strategies.
* Support ongoing professional development and best practice within the physiotherapy service.
Requirements
* BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent recognised qualification).
* CORU registration (or eligibility for same).
* Experience in geriatric rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, or community/elderly care.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
