My client, a large consulting firm based in Dublin are looking to hire a Director of Software Engineering to lead large-scale engineering teams and deliver complex technology transformation programmes for a financial services client.
This role combines strategic leadership, technical delivery oversight, stakeholder management and commercial accountability to drive high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with client executives, architects, delivery leaders and cross-functional teams to shape technology strategy, modern engineering practices and digital innovation initiatives.
The Role:
Lead and scale high-performing software engineering teams across multiple client engagements and delivery programmes.Drive end-to-end delivery of enterprise software solutions, ensuring quality, security, scalability and adherence to timelines and budgets.Partner with senior client stakeholders to define technology roadmaps, digital transformation strategies and engineering operating models.Champion modern software engineering practices including Agile delivery, DevSecOps, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD and platform engineering.Provide technical and commercial leadership during pre-sales activities, proposals, solution design and client presentations.Mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Have You:
Extensive experience in software engineering and technology delivery, including leadership of large distributed engineering teams.Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes within consulting, professional services and/or complex corporate environments.Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, along with modern application architectures and engineering tooling.Demonstrated expertise in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, software delivery governance and engineering best practices.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging C-level executives and senior business leaders.
