About Us

Homesavers is one of Ireland's fastest-growing retailers, offering everyday essentials, stylish and affordable homeware, gardening, and much more. We don't just sell quality — we create exciting and affordable shopping experiences across Ireland. Our team is the heart of our success, and we're proud to promote a culture of growth, respect, and belonging. With over 50 locations and growing, this is the perfect time to build your future with us.

Role Objective

As an Area Manager at Homesavers, you will be at the heart of one of Ireland's fastest-growing retail success stories. Leading a portfolio of stores within a defined region in the West, North and Midlands of the Republic of Ireland, you will be the driving force behind commercial results, strong leadership and operational excellence. From providing empowering leadership to Store Managers to rolling out business strategies, you'll turn plans into action and challenges into results. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at developing people, and know how to balance the big picture with hands-on support, this is your opportunity to make a real impact at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Area Operational Oversight

· Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of all stores within your designated area.

· Conduct regular store visits to evaluate operational standards, team efficiency, stock flow, and overall presentation.

· Support Store Managers in maintaining compliance with brand policies, operational procedures, and company expectations.

· Provide hands-on guidance and practical solutions to help stores overcome operational challenges.

2. Commercial Performance

· Drive each store to achieve and exceed sales targets through effective execution of commercial strategy.

· Ensure all locations operate within approved wage and cost budgets while maximising profitability.

· Analyse sales trends, product performance, and local market factors to identify regional opportunities.

· Monitor key performance metrics (e.g., sales per square foot, stock turnover, shrinkage) and implement improvement plans.

3. Customer Experience Excellence

· Uphold consistently high customer service standards across all stores in the area.

· Ensure that team behaviours, store environments, and service delivery reflect Homesavers' brand values.

· Review and address escalated customer concerns, complaints, or service gaps professionally and promptly.

4. Leadership Development

· Recruit, hire, and onboard Store Managers and key leadership roles within the area.

· Coach and mentor Store Managers to strengthen local leadership and build a high-performance culture.

· Support succession planning and internal development to create strong future leaders.

5. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

· Ensure all stores meet statutory and internal standards related to health, safety, fire regulations, and employment law.

· Conduct compliance audits and follow up on required actions across operational, legal, and safety areas.

· Support Store Managers in the implementation of consistent processes to minimise risk and reduce shrinkage.

6. Reporting

· Deliver accurate and timely reports on store performance, staff development, audit results, and business updates.

· Act as a communication link between head office and store teams, ensuring effective flow of key information.

· Support the rollout of new policies, campaigns, and initiatives, ensuring alignment across the region.

Required Skills & Experience

· Minimum 4 years of management experience in a high-volume retail environment — ideally across multiple sites, or within a large flagship store or complex retail facility.

· Strong track record of achieving sales targets, managing costs, and improving operational performance.

· Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop store leadership teams across diverse locations.

· Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical and decision-making skills.

· Sound knowledge of retail operations, merchandising standards, inventory control, and compliance frameworks.

· Highly organised, adaptable, and confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.

· Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

· Experience setting, managing, and achieving budgetary and cost targets.

· Highly customer-focused with a solid track record of service excellence across teams.

· Computer literate and comfortable using retail systems, reporting tools, and MS Office.

· Able to think independently, act decisively, and solve problems under pressure.

· Knowledge of workplace health & safety regulations and operational compliance standards.

· Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a "can-do" attitude.

· Must have full, clean driver's licence and flexibility to travel across the region.

· Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including weekends as needed.

· Occasional overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
