Role Overview:The Capital Quantification Intern, reporting to the Head of the Capital Quantification and Advisory team, supports the calculation, analysis, and daily regulatory capital reporting in line with applicable regulatory frameworks. This role will support the execution of established methodologies, assisting with the production of accurate capital metrics, and reviewing day‑to‑day variances.The role involves developing an understanding of NBCGF products and capital quantification methodologies, as well as maintaining high standards of data quality and analytical accuracy. In addition to core reporting responsibilities, the intern will have opportunities to support capital and regulatory initiatives and projects, working closely with subject matter experts across Risk, Finance, and Regulatory Reporting teams. This exposure provides valuable insight into broader capital processes and regulatory interpretation.This role is well suited to individuals interested in building technical expertise in regulatory capital frameworks, risk measurement, and regulatory interpretation, and who demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a disciplined approach to analysis.About the Team:The Capital team, comprising of three professionals, sits within the broader Finance function and report to the CFO. The team supports the company's capital management and regulatory reporting activities, working closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and the Front Office to ensure capital impacts are appropriately identified, measured, and understood.The team also engages regularly with senior management, contributes to materials for Board and Board Committee discussions, and supports interactions with the regulator, ensuring capital information is accurate, well‑governed, and aligned with regulatory expectations. Main Responsibilities:Support the daily calculation of the daily regulatory capital ratios in accordance with Basel / CRR‑aligned methodologies Assist with data preparation, validation, and reconciliation activities to ensure the accuracy and completeness of capital calculations Support the analysis of key capital drivers including risk weighted assets (RWAs) and capital ratios Support capital and regulatory initiatives and projects to gain exposure to broader capital processes and interact with other internal teamsProvide analytical support to senior analysts on ad hoc quantitative, regulatory, and capital‑related analysis as requiredSkills and Experience:Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.Exposure to banking, risk management, or financial regulation is beneficial, but not required.Numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large datasets and perform structured analysis.Familiarity with data and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS is an advantage.Ability to perform data preparation, validation, and reconciliation to support quantitative analysis.Effective documentation control and ability to follow established methodologies and controls. High level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and qualityWillingness to learn and develop technical expertise in capital frameworks and regulatory interpretation.
