Overview of role
We are currently recruiting an Anaesthetic & Recovery Nurse to work in UPMC Kildare Hospital on an 11‑month Fixed Term Contract.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Work as a member of the theatre team, providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care for patients and their families.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team and collaborate closely with nursing colleagues to deliver evidence‑based care.
* Assist across a wide range of specialities (orthopaedic, general, ophthalmology, gynaecology, ENT, pain management, urology, vascular).
* Develop specialist knowledge of nursing practice related to your clinical area.
* Maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships with the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure team spirit and collaborative working practices.
* Support the theatre manager by meeting agreed responsibilities as set out by the theatre manager or chief nursing officer.
* Identify and discuss nursing and patient needs with consultants, the nursing team, multi‑disciplinary team, patients, and carers.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered general nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* At least two years’ post‑registration theatre experience.
* Evidence of ongoing CPD.
* Holding a relevant theatre qualification is desirable.
