Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Oversee and guide a team of bridge engineers, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.
Business Development: Manage and contribute to business development initiatives and tender bids for professional service contracts.
Resource Planning: Conduct short- and long-term planning to ensure resource availability aligns with project demands.
Design Supervision: Provide design expertise and oversee the technical delivery of bridge and structural engineering projects.
Project Management: Lead medium to large-scale projects, managing quality, timelines, and budgets effectively.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and contractors, ensuring clear communication.
Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and career development.
PSDP Support: Support duties as Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP).
Essential Skills and Attributes: Demonstrated leadership and technical project oversight skills.
Excellent client-facing and communication abilities.
Proven experience in team and project management within multidisciplinary contexts.
In-depth knowledge of bridge design, inspection, assessment, and refurbishment.
Proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis tools (e.g., MIDAS Civil, LUSAS).
Expertise in concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
Qualifications and Experience: Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
15+ years as a Bridge Engineer, with at least 10 years on Irish projects.
Chartered Bridge Engineer (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent).
