Senior Engineering Lead
We are partnering with a leading contractor seeking an accomplished Senior Engineer to join their team for an upcoming Data Centre (DC) project in North Wexford. This position involves early engagement in pre-construction and enabling works, with follow-on opportunities on additional projects in the area. It's an exceptional chance for a Senior Engineer to step into a leadership role on a prestigious project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the project is adequately resourced with engineering and technical expertise.
* Lead, mentor, and support engineering staff, identifying and addressing training and development needs.
* Liaise with the design team to provide the construction team with the required technical information.
* Create and maintain the Request for Information (RFI) schedule, ensuring timely responses.
* Report on design status and potential impacts to the project management team.
* Understand and manage the project programme, covering design, procurement, lead-in, and construction phases.
* Proactively challenge the design to identify opportunities for commercial and operational benefits.
* Ensure precise dimensional control on-site, with comprehensive checks by the engineering team.
* Oversee the provision and accuracy of primary control data for the works.
* Implement and enforce company quality standards, ensuring compliance with inspection and test plans.
* Identify and arrange necessary training to uphold quality benchmarks.
* Ensure site engineers proactively request and receive essential information to prevent programme delays.
* Maintain a Nonconformance Report (NCR) register, holding responsible individuals accountable.
* Provide regular updates to the project and commercial management teams on NCR status.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to establish and manage the snagging process.
* Drive the timely closure of snagging items, ensuring subcontractors meet deadlines for seamless project handover.
Requirements:
* Relevant Engineering Degree
* Able to work within a dynamic team of professionals
* Able to perform multiple tasks at a high level of quality
* Able to work well within a deadline environment
* Minimum of 8 years' experience with a Main Contractor in Ireland or the UK
* Motivated individual that likes to work in a fast-moving environment
* Excellent communication skills
