Part‑time Accounts Assistant – 1 day onsite
Barden is working with an innovative start‑up to find an Accounts Assistant on a part‑time permanent basis (5 mornings per week, hybrid). This role offers flexibility for a finance professional and will add value across the finance function while working closely with the Finance Manager.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
* Assist with monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting, budget preparation, and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
* Manage the Accounts Payable function.
* Support annual audits, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., VAT, Intrastat, statistical surveys) and uphold internal financial controls.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations, manage intercompany balances, and oversee financial aspects of stock and goods in transit.
* Assist with payment runs, vendor onboarding, staff purchase orders, and general administrative tasks.
* Engage in process improvement initiatives and contribute to group projects.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational capabilities.
* Self‑motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
* Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.
* Understanding of VAT principles is desirable.
