Staff Nurse – Surgical Inpatient Units
to join a
leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland
.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse to work in a dynamic clinical environment delivering high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to assigned patients while working independently and within professional practice standards.
Deliver nursing care in accordance with
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
guidelines, ensuring patient safety and quality care at all times.
Assess patients by taking nursing histories, identifying care needs, and developing individualised care plans.
Monitor, observe, and document patients' clinical conditions, reporting any changes promptly to the appropriate medical or nursing staff.
Administer medications and treatments safely in line with hospital policies and the prescribed medical plan of care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with clinical governance standards.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and patient-centred care.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including aseptic techniques and isolation protocols.
Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, while educating patients and families on treatment plans and care needs.
Participate in continuous professional development, mandatory training, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high clinical standards.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse with a valid
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
licence.
Minimum
1 year of experience in a Surgical Ward
preferred.
Ability to work both
independently and collaboratively
as part of a healthcare team.
Ability to work effectively as part of a
multidisciplinary healthcare team
.
Demonstrates motivation, initiative, and a proactive approach to work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
Ability to build positive professional relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Demonstrated planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
Flexible approach to work schedules, including shift rotations, night duty, and on-call requirements.
Recent and relevant clinical experience within an acute hospital environment.
Knowledge of current developments and best practices in the specialised clinical area.
Awareness of national healthcare strategies and standards relevant to nursing practice.
