The IBTS is currently recruiting a full-time, permanent Clerical Officer based in the Apheresis Department, National Blood Centre.
The Apheresis clinic in the National Blood Centre (NBC) is a nurse-led clinic, managed by a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM). The role of the Clerical Officer (CO) on the Apheresis Team is to participate as part of the collection team to support the IBTS strategic priorities with regard to achieving operational excellence, improving customer (donor) experience and supporting better healthcare, ensuring compliance with current legislative requirements.
The CO is expected to participate in all aspects of the IBTS multi-disciplinary, cross functional approach to service delivery and to work within the IBTS Quality System and Code of Conduct at all times. The appointee will report to the National Apheresis Recruitment/ Relationship Manager or in his / her absence, to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) / Registered Nurse (RN), with regard to the efficient and effective daily operation of the Apheresis Clinic.
Essential Criteria:
* Leaving certificate / FETAC Level 5 (or equivalent)
* Recent and relevant experience.
* The ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proven IT skills and experience including excellent typing ability and experience working with
* Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel.
* Experience maintaining Databases.
* Highly developed organisational and administrative skills.
* Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Capable of dealing with information in a confidential manner.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience in a comparable or similar environment.
The salary scale attached to the post is the Clerical Officer scale €31,118 to €48,427 (incl. LSI) pro rata per annum. Entry point onto the salary scale is dependent upon relevant experience.

Eligible candidates must be:
1. A citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) – EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway

3. A citizen of Switzerland in regards to the agreement between the EU and Switzerland on the movement of people
4. A non-EEA citizen who has a stamp 4 visa
5. A person awarded international protection under the International Protection Act 2015, or any family member entitled to remain in the State as a result of family reunification and has a stamp 4 visa
