Overview

Salary: from €44,515.00 per annum. Contract Type: Permanent. Hours: Full Time. Job Reference Number: SSCW_PINES_2909. Job Location: Ireland, Naas, Co. Kildare. Closing Date: 30th October 2025. 39 hours per week – Permanent Contract.

Autism Initiatives Ireland has provided specialist autism services for adults across Residential, Respite, Day, and Community Support Services since 2005. Our vision is that through supportive action people with autism can learn, develop and have ownership over their lives. We aim to work alongside autistic people, their families and carers to provide specialist, tailored services to help everyone thrive. We have expanded our services across Dublin, Kildare, Wexford and Wicklow and continue to seek opportunities to offer assistance and value. We recruit individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to help people live independently, enjoy a better quality of life, or participate more actively in their communities. The successful candidate will receive training and development, including a detailed induction before joining the service.


Responsibilities and qualifications

Skills/Abilities required of a Senior Social Care Worker

* At least one year’s recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
* Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
* Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
* Proven ability to work on own initiative
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Fluent English and excellent communication skills
* Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
* Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan
* Experience at a similar level with responsibility for supervising/managing a team
* Proven experience in managing team rota
* Experience of leading/chairing meetings

Schedule

Staff are required to work shifts on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and may also be required to complete sleep-in duties.

Qualifications required

* A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORU’s website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; OR
* A relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work/Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; AND
* Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
o OR proof of application in progress with CORU.

Permission to work in Ireland essential.
