A Day in the Life
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) will join the ACM OU OPS team to ensure a seamless transition of new products from R&D to Manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with R&D to understand product designs, developing manufacturing processes with a focus on plastic injection molding, and enhancing line efficiency while managing risks. The AME will implement Operational Excellence tools and be responsible for creating and maintaining BOMs, work instructions, and DMRs.

A Day in The Life Of:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Designing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
Designing the arrangement of machines within plant facilities for maximum efficiency.
Designing sequences of operations and specifying procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment affecting product performance.
Adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Incorporating inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspecting machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Developing manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control, and possibly developing those techniques.
Providing guidance on design concepts and specifications to optimize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensuring processes and procedures comply with regulations.
Key Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 2 years in a similar role.
Experience with product development.
Knowledge of project management, equipment, facility, and process validations.
Experience managing BOMs and DMRs.
Experience with equipment development and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Project management skills including Gantt charts, financial tracking, stakeholder communication, resource coordination, and delivering results.
Experience working with suppliers and managing project deliverables.
Strong communication, accountability, decision-making, feedback, meeting management, and conflict management skills.
Problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
Nice to Have
Medical Device experience.
Experience with injection molding, small tooling design, and development.
Design of Experiments (DOE).
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Technical writing skills and documentation updating.
Knowledge of drafting standards, fixtures, and tooling.
Strong statistical skills using Minitab.
Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Project, Visio, and Word.
Knowledge of capital project budgets, including forecasting and quoting.
Experience developing statements of work, project charters, and project plans.
