Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland's largest indigenous consultancies, specialising in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, and Energy and Renewables.
FT delivers ecology consultancy services to both public and private sector clients.
Our expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including renewable energy projects (both onshore and offshore), residential and commercial developments, large-scale infrastructure such as roads and greenways, and electrical infrastructure.
FT is seeking to recruit a Senior Ecologist who will join our team in either the Cork, Dublin or Carlow offices.
This role is ideal for candidates with a minimum of seven years' experience.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of projects across the renewable energy, circular economy, and civil infrastructure sectors.

FT's ResponsibilitiesWhat would my main responsibilities be in this role? Managing individual contracts to ensure the delivery of high quality ecological consultancy servicesProviding specialist ecological advice across a variety of projectsPlanning, conducting and overseeing site ecological surveys and fieldworkPreparing and supervising the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)Conducting Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reportsWriting detailed technical reports and other project deliverablesEnsuring quality control with a strong focus on accuracy, timelines, and continuous improvement of the Ecology team's outputActing as expert witness during Oral HearingsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships and participating in meetings with clients and design teams as neededSkills / QualificationsAre you the right person for the role? Degree in ecology or related disciplineAt least seven years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancyMember of CIEEM, CIWEM or comparable professional bodyExperienced in participating in oral hearing process and serving as an expert witnessComprehensive knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislationStrong technical report writing skillsProven experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs)Experienced in collaborating within multi-disciplinary teamsExcellent communication, organisational and project management skillsIs FT the right fit for you?
