Job Summary: The Technical Account Manager plays a vital role in the company's success by providing pre-sale and customer lifecycle support and advocacy for assigned clients.
The role involves supporting the sales process as a technology adviser to prospective and current customers, with a strong focus on developing and maintaining long-term relationships.
The position requires collaboration with all internal departments and reports to sales leadership.
This role will require 50% travel.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Support presales site activities, including preliminary site visits and trial support/preparation.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining product and service functionalities.
Coordinate with customers and engineers to ensure equipment meets system requirements.
Communicate with the sales team to understand customer demands and provide sales support.
Secure orders, ensure product standards, and oversee product delivery.
Establish rapport and acceptance with customers.
Plan product modifications to meet customer demands.
Assist clients in resolving product usage issues.
Recommend new and improved products, explaining cost-effectiveness.
Understand the dynamics of a fast-paced tech environment and work effectively in a matrix organization.
Support presales activities, including proposals, product positioning, and responding to technical queries.
Collaborate with the sales team to achieve sales targets while adhering to cost objectives.
Participate in preparing SLA documents, bid coordination, discovery, requirements gathering, demonstrations, technical discussions, and solution proposals.
Engage in CRM activities related to relationship retention.
Assist Partner Management in identifying partnership opportunities and distribution channels.
Monitor account activities (e.g., trouble tickets, disputes, reports, collections) and follow up to ensure resolution.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
6-9 years of experience in sales engineering or IT within managed services, professional services, or security industries.
At least 2 years in a customer-facing role, preferably with presales experience.
Certifications in Dell, HP, VMWare, Hyper-V preferred.
Experience with CRM tools like ConnectWise, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Strong knowledge of Managed Services products, IT ecosystems, and related technologies.
Understanding of infrastructure and application architectures.
Business acumen to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Ability to remain calm under stress and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Problem-solving skills and persistence.
Ability to build trust-based relationships and collaborate effectively.
Effective communication with customers and management at all levels.
Capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented mindset and willingness to share knowledge.
