Transport Planner Role
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive transport planner to join our dynamic team. As a transport planner, you will be responsible for the effective planning and coordination of transport operations within our supply chain network.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will have a degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in transport planning or logistics within a retail supply chain environment is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimize transport plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
* Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and retail outlets to streamline transport operations.
* Monitor and track the progress of shipments, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules.
* Analyze transport data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvement strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare regular reports.
* Liaise with transport providers to negotiate rates and service agreements.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
* Respond to and resolve any transport-related issues or delays.
* Collaborate with the logistics team to forecast transport needs and plan accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in transport planning or logistics within a retail supply chain environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in transport management software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of Irish transport regulations and industry best practices.
